I have received formal and extensive training in reflective practice, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and have completed training via the Postpartum Support International Program (PSI).
I believe in social justice and advocacy and I combine my experience as a community Mental Health Therapist, a Certified Lactation Educator (CLE), a mother of three, and my lived experiences as a Woman of Color to inform my work with supporting parents and caregivers in cultivating a positive, nonviolent, and supportive relationship with themselves and in their parent-child interactions.
My own lived experiences fuel my passion for maternal mental health. Having experienced postpartum depression and anxiety with my first child, depression during pregnancy with my second child, and experiencing a miscarriage, I know firsthand that the journey can be challenging, and I am here to support you. Now, with this new journey of raising three humans, I understand the parent struggle, and I aim to provide a space where you can be yourself and share your struggles without judgment.
